Ghost is my one-and-only OC, at the moment. She’s depicted in my profile picture. I’ve kind of considered changing her name, as it’s a bit uncreative, but it’s stuck, so.
Not gonna fully explain her origins here, but long story short, I used to have a different username. After joining a server with a branding based around salt, and nicknaming myself on Hallowe’en and forgetting to change it back, I stuck with the username GhostSalt and the profile picture I used along with it (which was an image of a kawaii ghost I found online).
I don’t use that profile picture anymore, though — it felt like stealing after a while, so I made my own version, stylised in the way I draw Ghost.
It’s quite a coincidence that I’ve ended up feeling nonexistent, or ghostly. Freaky.
But, yeah. I kinda see Ghost as my more timid side, shying away from people and all that. I’ve thought of a little bit of lore, also.
Ghost is completely intangible, and nobody can see her. However, she can interact with objects (on purpose or on accident!), and becomes tangible to anyone who’s reasonably sure that there is a ghost around them. For example, say she’s in someone’s house. They don’t know she exists, and actually don’t believe in ghosts. However, if she makes something levitate, or moves something while they’re watching, and they think “What the hell? This house is definitely haunted,” then she becomes tangible.
She can also shapeshift, and she has a human form — however, she prefers their ghost form because it’s versatile, low-energy and adorable :3
She sleeps through the day, although she doesn’t need to sleep, it just helps her get her thoughts straight.
She prefers being active during the night, because there’s less of a chance she’ll accidentally reveal herself to others, and also because it’s colder during the night. Heat makes her melt, which is inconvenient, sometimes.
